  4. Thanks everyone for dropping in and saying “Hi” – it’ll be fun watching all of this unfold.

Weightloss: The book should be worth the weight ;) I am really excited about the direction it has taken with the development of the program.

I echo Tonia, “Team G all the way baby!”

  5. I’m ready and I’ve got another girl on board! She’s been working out with me for the last couple weeks and she kicks my butt!!! We have a super busy Fall travel schedule. Will it be too late to start mid-november?

  7. Hey Jen, Jenni and Lisa! Glad to see you made your way over here – thanks for saying hi!

Jen – short answer no it won’t be too late to start in November. Take little steps now and make mental preparation.

Jenni – All the best on the marathon! Go get ‘em.

Lisa – thank you it is great to be back together :)

  8. Hi Jen, Jenni and Lisa!

Jen, we ned to get together to work out!

  9. Are you two planning on attending the Bluffs Classic?! Let me know… we could make a day of it! BBQ at my house between morning and night show… could be a ton of fun! Shain is expecting over 80 entries!

  10. Hey Jim, I’ve got a question… which Personal Training certification did you choose to go with and why? I feel like I’m getting nudged in that direction and am just starting to gather information as I continue to pray.

  11. Hi Jen – I chose ISSA as it was nicely geared towards my goals to support natural bodybuilding. I’d recommend it unless you are wanting to be in a health club setting – there they may want you to have a more ‘fitness’ oriented certification like ACE.

  12. ACE sounds pretty basic. I think I’d like to go beyond that. I’ve read a couple things like ISSA is too expensive for what you get back. Would you say that is true? Did you look into NSCA and ACSM?

  13. Hi Jen – I don’t agree ACE is one of the more widely accepted certs among health clubs – definitely ACSM is the cream of the crop but the last time I looked it required a bachelors degree.

ISSA is only expensive upfront, but when all is said and done it is about the same as most certification programs when you include the training material + exam cost. ISSA includes the exam cost and you can take it online from home which I liked.

On the question of what you get back – that is subjective to goals and needs and ISSA is a little light on that although I did get a call from the PT company that Gold’s hired to submit a resume to run Lincoln. They called me because I was on the ISSA CFT list for Lincoln, NE.

  14. All this info. is helpful, thank you! I’d like to make a decision soon and get started studying for it. I think somethings going to happen with Fit 4 Life very soon. Looks like we might be moving to the Chicago area, Brandy first, kids and I at the end of the school year. Not sure what’s gonna happen here, big changes coming, that’s all I know.

  15. WELL KIDS!!! IT’S TIME FOR ME TO BUCKLE DOWN AND GET SERIOUS. I AM GOING TO HAVE MY TRAINER DO SOME MEASUREMENTS SOON AND THEN GET ROLLING. I AM COMPETING IN JULY AND OCTOBER. BOTH SHOWS ARE LOCAL. I JUST AM NOT ABLE TO TRAVEL YET.
I REALLY THINK WITH YOUR HELP I COULD DO WELL IN BOTH SHOWS!!!
LET ME KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO NEXT!
    XOXO,
