I have been neglecting this blog!
I think working on a computer at work causes me to not really want to do too much on it when i get home, but i’m going to try and do better!
This prep I seem to be making good progress thus far and am just hoping that I will accomplish what i set out to do! After 2 failed preps, i’d be lying if i said i wasn’t a little afriad! I don’t want to fail this time! I do know i’m doing everything i can and even though my scale hasn’t moved a LOT my clothes sure have gotten loose, I’m talking major changes in that department! That keeps me smiling!
We have been training with a friend we made through this process and she is going to compete next year and it’s been fun! I do feel bad that i’m getting to the moody stage so last workout I was pretty crabby! Poor Jim and Emily, they had to deal with me the whole time! UGH!
I am not at all enjoying the diet part, but also have not cheated except when Jim allowed for graduation! It’s soooooo hard…I want to dive face first into any type of fatty food, pizza, burgers, fries, chips, doughnuts, whatever! My fat intake has been so low for so long my body at times is screaming for fat! Jim says this is a good sign that my body is starting to dig into those deeper stores! I’m definately burning through my carbs quite fast, holy cow! I’ll feel my glycogen deplete pretty rapidly during my weight training and then things get interesting!
I have been pondering why food has such a strong hold on me, and know God has a spiritual lesson in this…i’ll be listening…. I know I have this drive to do this, to persevere and to succeed and know with God as my strength, I will make it!
Even though this is tough, i’m soooo excited to see what happens, I get up very early, even though I LOVE to sleep and get my cardio in, then get ready for work and if I need to which is most days, i take a nap when i get home from work so i can lift hard and heavy at the gym!
Regardless, most days of lifting have been very strong! I’m super thrilled with that, although, Tuesday was a little weak on some lifts, which frustrated me!
So many things have been happening lately, jim and i have been having some great date nights and i always really enjoy that time to reconnect with him after a busy week! We’ll be getting one in tomorrow and managed to escape last night to see “The A Team” We LOVED that movie so much, it far surpassed my expectations and want to see it again!
My oldest daughter Sarah finally got herself a job after becoming a highschool grad and is thrilled! She’s working at Target right now and anxiously trying to save to move out on her own…I don’t even want to talk about that! LOL!! i’m not ready!
We did have a great graduation week and I cried during her graduation and was so excited!! She is our first grad! I was a little sick on my graduation night, but took some meds and caffeine and i got to put on the cap and gown and walk across that stage! It was phenominal!!! I cannot even put into words how thrilling that week was! I probably should not have had grad cake at Sarah and my party, but Jim insisted as i was just such a big deal! 39 years old and i’m a highschool grad!! Whoohooo!! And he same week my oldest daughter graduates high school! That was cool!
We did end up with 2 cakes…..I thought I ordered the cake from my fave HyVee store so we went there to get it and they didn’t have my cake…I was on the verge of a freak out, but they said they could put one together for me and it would just take a few minutes…I went and joined Jim and Sarah and had steam coming out of my ears! We waited a few and then headed back to the bakery together to get the cake. Jim say’s, Tonia, i don’t think this is the store we ordered it from…that store had a higher counter this doesn’t. I told him, this has to be it, because this is my fave one! He then decides to call the other HyVee closest to our house to see if they have a cake order for us, YEP, they do! Oh No!! Well we had to buy the one and then then other…$60.00 in cake..YIKES! We had an entire cake left after her party, even with a GREAT turnout! Fortunately the guy next door has a couple college aged sons and they have LOTS of buddies that hang out there…so we gave them the cake and they LOVED it!! LOL!…So yeah, i’m a dork! But that cake was YUMMY!!!!

I forgot to tell the funny story about the pics Jim took of me after my graduation! He was clicking away while I posed and the ladies next to us asked if i was a model, because i was posing just so, well Jim and I explained that I was not(hilarious!) and Jim told them about me being a figure competitor, so that’s why, then they asked if he was my dad! Poor Jim, it was sooooo funny though, even though I felt bad for him!
